Tusk Ventures Associate, Sourcing and Diligence

Providing tailored regulatory services to both startups and growing companies in various industries, Tusk Ventures offers world-class regulatory, communications, and strategic expertise to help businesses navigate politics, expand into new markets, and reduce regulatory risk.The Role. As an Associate, you will report to the Head of Business Development, and perform financial and organizational diligence on potential portfolio companies, execute strategic sourcing processes, and collaborate with Tusk Ventures stakeholders and portfolio company team members. Your responsibilities will include:Evaluating potential engagements through financial due diligence, market research and competitive analysis as well as assisting in the preparation of diligence materials and reports.Conducting research which includes landscape analysis, competitive analysis, and industry research.Implementing a high-quality sourcing process.Leveraging Tusk Ventures resources and relationships to identify new business opportunities.Leveraging your personal network to identify new business opportunities.Supporting the leadership team with internal operating and reporting systems, including but not limited to business development efforts and data analysis.Ongoing process improvement and implementation of best practices.Collaborating with others on the team to identify new opportunities for developing deliverables such as content, programming, and internal tools/resources/products.What we look for from you.3-6 years of previous relevant experience in diligence and sourcing, preferably in an investment banking or private investing context.Expansive network to leverage in sourcing.Demonstrated interest in network building. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication. Entrepreneurial, analytical, proactive, team player.Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, attention to detail.Familiar with project management methodologies and systems.Ability to divide attention among multiple projects and under tight deadlines.What you'll get from us.Tusk Ventures believes that treating employees well helps the whole company prosper.
