Position Description The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the maintenance operations in a manufacturing facility, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of equipment and facilities. They lead a team of maintenance technicians, develop maintenance schedules, and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Delegate tasks and assign responsibilities to maintenance staff, ensuring efficient use of resources. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.Develop and implement maintenance procedures and schedules for all production equipment.Coordinate with production managers to schedule maintenance activities during downtime to minimize disruption to production schedules. Regular inspections of machinery and equipment are conducted to identify issues or potential failures. Oversee repairs and troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance needs.Maintain a comprehensive database of machines. The database should contain manufacturer, model, and serial number, installation date, specifications, maintenance history, and ongoing requirements. Record maintenance, repairs, and parts replacements.Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for equipment maintenance and repairs. Establish inventory control procedures to track usage, replenishment, and stock levels.Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Follow all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for product assembly, handling hazardous materials, and waste disposal. Budgeting and cost control: Develop and manage the Maintenance Department budget. Monitor and control maintenance expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resources to achieve cost-effective operations. Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, quality, and productivity of the lamination operations. Contribute ideas and suggestions for streamlining processes, reducing waste, and improving overall product assembly.RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management in a manufacturing setting.Experience with Homag or Komo woodworking machinery will set you apart! Proven experience in leading and supervising maintenance teams.Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Strong leadership and team management skills and proficiency in maintenance techniques, including equipment diagnostics and repair.In-depth knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.Effective communication and organizational skills.Problem-solving abilities and a commitment to quality.
