CONTRACT | Business Immigration Paralegal

Lawyers on Demand is urgently seeking a contract Business Immigration Paralegal for a hybrid role in Washington, DC with one of our law firm clients.This role has a M/F remote, T/W/Th in office schedule, with normal working hours being 9:00AM to 5:30PM, with one-hour unpaid lunch.Responsibilities:Assist in preparing US employment-based, non-immigrant visa filings to US Department of Labor, US Citizenship and Immigration Services, US Department of State and US Customs and Border ProtectionCompile immigration eligibility documents and analyze individuals' potential immigration benefits, including H-1B, E-3, L-1, TN, E-1/E-2 and O-1 visa processingCommunicate clearly and effectively, based on attorney advice, on immigration benefits, government procedures and case processing time linesMeticulously track and report on visa expiration dates and filing deadlinesMaintain client files online and offlineRespond to immigration inquiries in a timely manner and adhering to submission deadlinesPossibly assist with drafting PERM Labor Certification advertisement text, prevailing wage requests, and recruitment documents, and preparing PERM applications and compliance files, meticulously tracking timelines of each step along the PERM case lifecycleOther duties as requested by attorneys and managerQualifications:Bachelor's degree2-4 years corporate immigration experience requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, requiredProficiency in legal terminology and immigration database software, such as INSZoom or similar requiredLawyers On Demand (LOD) offers flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, candidate's general skill set, applicability of candidate skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors.
