Mid/Sr. Level Product Engineer - Macedonia, OH - Oversee and improve product through delivery to customer resolving and troubleshooting/testing any issues, assisting manufacturing, process improvement. Must have US Citizenship due to military contracts Product Development company engineering Optical Lenses from thin filmsGreat Salary; Collaborative Culture - RAPID Growth!Project Management and Continuous Improvement from customer requirements to delivery Immediate consideration given to those with 3D design skills to develop jigs and fixtures for testing, any optics background, and component/assembly manufacturing skills.Work in close coordination with Business Development, Program Manager and Design team from proposal to system deliveryUnderstand all customer program requirements and ensure custom designs meet customer specification and design intentDesign, develop products, ensuring they meet functional, cost, and performance standardsConduct theoretical testing on design modelsIdentify and solve any engineering issues or design flaws during the testing phaseCreate and manage build of product prototypes for optical and mechanical testingTranslate system designs and specifications into production manufacturing specifications and procedures working closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to mass productionTechnical interface with vendors:Optical and Opto-mechanical design reviewsSystem assembly and performance testingResolve technical challenges early in production, ensuring product quality and manufacturing efficiencyAnalyze product performance and customer feedback to identify areas for improvementDevelop and implement engineering changes to existing products to enhance functionality, reduce costs, or address quality concernsMaintain accurate records of design iterations, testing results, and engineering specificationsAdministrative functions such as managing solidworks vault, ECN's prototype testing, and design reviewsQUALIFICATIONSBS in engineering5-10 years of experience in product development or engineering roleProject leadership: experience leading projects and cross-functional teamsSolidworks to design jigs and fixtures for testingExperience with product testing, validation and prototypingKnowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining)Familiarity with quality control systems and regulatory complianceUS CitizenshipNice to have: Experience in optical component manufacturing and inspectionExperience in Opto-Mechanical DesignExperience in Opto-Electrical Design
