Senior Scrap Metal Buyer - Relo

OverviewThe Senior Scrap Metal Buyer / Regional Account Manager (RAM) is responsible for managing all aspects of ferrous steel commodity purchasing to support a designated processing facility or geographical region. This role will also collaborate with the Commercial Operations Manager to support the purchasing of NF metals. Additionally, the RAM will oversee and provide leadership to a team of buyers, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regional Buy Plans.Previous experience in scrap metal recycling and scrap metals procurement required as well as supervision experience a must. This position offers a competitive compensation package with benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans for employees and dependents, 401(k) with company match, paid time off (PTO) from the first paycheck, and paid holidays.ResponsibilitiesSupervise & Lead Buying Team: Manage a team of scrap metal buyers, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and alignment with corporate purchasing strategies.Develop & Execute Buy Plans: Ensure purchasing activities align with the regional Buy Plan established by the Commercial Operations Director (COD).Supplier & Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with scrap metal suppliers, dealers, and industrial accounts to ensure a steady and competitive supply of materials.Market Analysis & Pricing Strategy: Monitor regional and national scrap metal markets, industry trends, and competitor activities to make informed purchasing decisions.Negotiation & Contract Management: Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to maximize profitability while ensuring sustainable sourcing.Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with the operations, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies with company goals.Performance Management: Establish and track KPIs for the buying team, providing coaching, support, and development opportunities.Qualified candidates send current resume to Tracy Knight @ | tracy.knight@ABOUT US: I.K.
