Delta is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer for our downtown Chicago office.The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed with a background in facilities design for public sector clients including municipal, transit, and DOTs. Some projects will require client interaction in addition to collaboration with other in-house engineering staff.Delta offers a wide variety of electrical engineering services including facilities design, roadway lighting, fiber optic communications, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. Additionally, Delta operates within many industries such as transportation, rail, aviation, and municipal. The ideal candidate shall have familiarity with some of the topics indicated below and demonstrate initiative to learn the others.Project Management Responsibilities:Planning, scoping, man-hour estimation, and contract negotiationsProject schedule, tasks, and milestonesMonitor project budgetsAttend client meetingsIdentify, assign and supervise the work of support staff to complete project requirementsOrganize both physical and digital project documentationOversee production of contract drawings in AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or MicrostationMentoring and training of junior designers Design Responsibilities:Perform electrical design for facilities: lighting, power distribution, alarms, communications, voltage drop calculations, generator and transformer sizing, substation and ground grid design and analysis.Perform roadway lighting and photometric calculations using AGI 32 softwarePerform Intelligent Transportation Systems design including fiber optic cable sizing, CCTV, and vehicle detection device selectionExperience with SKM Power ToolsProvide construction phase services including site visitsCompile milestone deliverables (calculations, drawings, specs, etc) consistent with client standardsParticipate in QA/QC process to maintain the quality of work completed by staffMinimum Qualifications:B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET Accredited)IL PE licenseTen (10+) years of experienceExperience with CADD solutions including Microstation, AutoCad, and RevitSolid knowledge of electrical trade practices, standards, and building codesStrong communication, teamwork & leadership skillsSkilled in MS Office SuiteThe Benefits Program Includes:Medical, Dental, Vision insuranceBCBS of IL health wellness programs which cover gym discounts, flu shots, and biometric screeningsPartial reimbursement provided towards Co-Insurance / Deductibles.401(k) retirement plan w/ employer matchIndividual and Dependent Life InsuranceShort- and Long-Term DisabilityTraining and professional development coursesGenerous paid time off program (PTO)Commuter transit reimbursement program
