Our mission is to partner with parents to build within their children a firm foundation of academic excellence and Christian discipleship.About the Head of School:The Head of School serves as the chief executive officer of the school and is responsible for its overall leadership and management. The Head of School works in partnership with the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, parents, and the broader community to ensure the school fulfills its mission and vision. This role involves strategic planning, operational oversight, academic leadership, financial stewardship, and the cultivation of a positive school culture.The Head of School Responsibilities Include:The Head of School is charged with the responsibility of implementing the policies, budgets and campus plans set forth by the Academy Board, interpreting these into operational plans and procedures, and acting upon them. Authority is delegated to the Head of School by the Academy Board for the day-to-day operation of the school. A relationship of trust and respect must exist between the Head of School and the Academy Board as all seek God's wisdom and direction for the school.What You Bring:The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Head of School:Essential Qualifications? Degree: Master's degree or higher in Education, Business Administration, Theological studies/Seminary, or a related field.? Experience: At least 20 years of experience in education and 5+ years in a leadership role. Preference given to a University Model School environment.? Faith: Deep commitment to the integration of Christian faith and education, evidenced by personal faith and professional practice. Be a born-again follower of Christ with a demonstrated commitment to Christian education and active in a local, evangelical church. Be in agreement with Cornerstone Preparatory Academy's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement.? Alignment: A passion and dedication to Cornerstone Prep's University-Model® mission and purpose.? Interpersonal and communication: Strong experience in advocating for the school with staff, parents, board, and community members. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.? Leadership: Ability to recruit, develop, inspire and manage the best education and administrative talent, and work collaboratively to continue Cornerstone's record as one of the best places to work in Atlanta. Ability to guard the school culture and partnership with parents to educate students.? Work Practices: Outstanding work ethic, self-directed, motivated, and a life-long learner. Ability to work independently and prioritize. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong administration skills, including payroll, accounting, scheduling, policy implementation, government liaison.Desirable Qualifications? Experience: Five years of experience in a Head of School or similar leadership role within a Christian school environment, with a verifiable track record of success in growing the institution both in enrollment and financial strength.? Strategic thinking and planning: Proven record of success in fundraising in a non-profit, philanthropic or school environment. Public Relations, prospecting, business development and negotiation skills.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeadership? To provide Christ-centered spiritual leadership in all aspects of the school.? To provide visionary leadership for the future and to motivate others to unite in pursuit of the school's mission.? To inspire, guide, direct and evaluate school personnel, and give leadership to other people committed to the mission of the school.? To provide administrative leadership for the systems and tasks and administrative personnel.? To demonstrate proficiency in speaking to both small and large groups.? To regularly reflect, self-evaluate and course correct.Parent, Student & Community Relations? To create a culture that leads students, parents, staff and other constituents to a deeper knowledge of Christ.? To plan and implement strategies for organized parental input and involvement in the school.? To encourage community involvement and service to the community.? To plan, organize and promote relationships with the churches in the area.? To assist and facilitate parent-teacher conferences and assist principals with disciplinary issues.Personnel Management? To recruit, hire, and supervise administrative personnel.? To assist principals/deans in recruiting, hiring, and evaluating performance of faculty and staff.? To recommend salaries, benefits, and working condition improvements.? To develop and maintain programs for professional growth and development for all employee positions.School Advancement? To oversee the planning, organization and promotion of God-honoring strategies to develop general financial support.? To serve as chief spokesperson for the school and to oversee the planning, organization and implementation of strategies to promote and market the school.? To oversee programs designed for student retention and recruitment.? To represent the school to prospective families.? To build strong relationships with business and corporations which will result in support of the school.? To fully utilize resources available through NAUMS for training, networking opportunities, and developing Cornerstone prep as a university-model school®.Business Management? To oversee annual budgeting of the school's operational, restricted, and capital funds.? To assure accountability for income and expenses in accordance with the budget.? To analyze the needs, and plan for the provision of facilities and equipment necessary to accomplish the school's mission.? To oversee payroll and managing ledgers.? To oversee fundraising.? To be the primary person of contact with government entities.? To oversee the school management system.Facility Management? To provide long-range plans for campus improvements and/or new facilities based on enrollment and school programs.? To analyze the need and plan for the purchase of equipment to support the programs of the school.? To represent the interests of the school in dealing with architects, contractors, and other vendors related to facilities.?
