Payroll Specialist

Abt Electronics specializes in electronics, appliance & furniture sales, delivery, installation, and servicing all the products we sell. In addition, must be comfortable contributing/working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and fun work environment.Primary duties include:Process bi-weekly payroll for 1,700+ employees that fall under two company codesMaintain personnel database regarding salariesKnowledge of handling employee wage garnishments within ADP and maintaining complianceCreate and pay out off-cycle payrolls every yearAddress and resolve employee complaints relating to the payroll system, paychecks, etc.Prepare reports to relevant departmentsMake adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, and commissionProcess wage garnishmentsEnsure employees receive the correct compensation in a timely mannerTrain & support another HR team member to be a backup for payroll processingAssist with various projects including data analytics and other aspects of the ADP software tools.Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plusAt least 3 years of experience with ADP Workforce Now requiredProven experience as a payroll specialist in a fast-paced environment requiredStrong knowledge of tax and wage lawsMust possess a very strong attention to detailSolid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practicesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTrustworthy with attention to confidentialityExceptional multitasking and organizational skillsAble to work effectively with minimal supervisionBasic HR knowledge is requiredThis is not a remote job; we are located in Glenview, ILWe offer our team members:Yearly performance reviewSalary starting at $65k (more based on experience)Medical/Dental (Blue Cross & Blue Shield PPO Network) & Vision (VSP)401k (Charles Schwab) which includes a matching programLife & Disability Insurance (Lincoln Financial)Generous Paid Time Off & Sick Pay programEmployee discounts on all products we sell
