The focus is on results regarding equipment availability and reliability, plant availability, overall maintenance costs as well as efficiency with transportation and material movement functions. This position directs the administration of the plant maintenance programs and material movement through direct reports.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEnsure safe product movement and maintenance practices and systems are established and followedProvide guidance and leadership to front line supervisorsEnsure safety/environmental/quality complianceJustify new equipment or special tools for all areasOversee and be responsible for product movement from material launch to final shipment.Monitor and control maintenance and transportation personnel levels and labor resource utilizationPrepare the plant maintenance budgetEstablish area goals and objectivesMonitor and control maintenance costsMonitor and control contract maintenance servicesEvaluate and communicate subordinate performanceEnsure adequate training and development of all maintenance and material handling/transportation personnelReview and monitor special and major projects with EngineeringEnsure compliance with maintenance standards and proceduresInteract with peer and senior Company leadershipEnsure maintenance planning and scheduling meet operational goals and objectivesEnsure material movement and transportation transactions meet operational goals and objectivesEnsure compliance with departmental and Company policies and proceduresContinuously review maintenance programs, preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance objectives.COMPETENCIES Principles of mechanical and/or electrical engineering Basic computer skills including CMMS systems Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem skillsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in a heavy industrial equipment facility
