Our mission is to enhance the value of land through innovative design, efficient development practices, and a commitment to sustainability, all while generating long-term value for our shareholders, trade partners, and employees.Position Overview:LeoTerra Development is seeking an Estimator of Sitework Construction for residential, commercial, and industrial development projects, reporting to the Director of Preconstruction & Estimating for Siteworks.The ideal candidate will have an understanding of standard estimating practices to include reading civil construction drawings, proficiency in quantity takeoff using civil engineering scales and units of measure, and thinking through a proposed project in order to capture all items pertinent to the construction.Key Responsibilities:Review construction plans, technical reports, and specifications to understand the project requirements.Import the plans (in PDF and/or AutoCAD version) into AGTEK takeoff software.Perform the quantity takeoff to capture the areas, lengths, and counts of materials in AGTEK.Generate reports of the takeoffs for demolition, clearing, grading, storm drains, water systems, sewer systems, retaining walls, paving & flatwork.Visit the proposed site (with the Preconstruction Director , if available) and investigate the existing site conditions.Transfer the takeoff into HCSS bidding software to create the estimate.Solicit quotations from preferred vendors and subcontractors in regions close to the proposed project.Review and analyze quotations to identify the best vendors and subcontractors for the project.Input selected quotation pricing into HCSS bidding software.Save all documents as PDF files to the appropriate project folder in the company server.Review the takeoffs with the Preconstruction Director and perform a second check of quantities and calculations prior to drafting an estimate.Review the Final Estimate and discuss the pricing of each item with the Preconstruction Director.Qualifications:Associate's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in construction with a focus on civil / sitework development projects, or 8+ years of experience working in the field of sitework projects in lieu of a college degree. Knowledge of civil site design, grading, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook email, Excel, Word, Google Earth, PDF readers, etc.An understanding of AutoCAD, AGTEK, and HCSS software is preferred but not necessarily required. Training can be provided.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.Availability to attend classes for software training, safety training, and internal company training.Willingness to work with others in a team setting, maintain a sense of urgency in the work, and initiative to work unsupervised.Good time management practices to stay ahead of schedule and deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with HCSS Heavy Bid and AGTEK Gradework, Materials, and Underground.Strong time management and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with maintaining an attention to detail.Promptness in arriving to work, working a full 10-hour day, and exemplify a strong work ethic.Join Our Team: At LeoTerra Development, you'll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
