Job Title: Electrical Controls EngineerLocation: Glendale Heights, ILSalary: $88,000-$118,000LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join our client's organization in the Glendale Heights, IL area. Key Responsibilities:Select components and layout electrical control panels.Select sensors and pneumatic control components.Understand the UL508A and NEC for control system design.Write, modify, and debug PLCs, HMIs, and Kinetix servo motion control programs.Create electrical schematics and bill of materials based on instructions.Manage control aspects from budgeting time, cost control, and choosing quality products.Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.Assist in developing standards and procedures for engineering and technical work.Read and interpret customer specifications.Modify and create machine electrical schematics.Possess good logical code writing, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineering members.Communicate with customers over the phone to assist in troubleshooting installed systems.Travel to customer sites for system installation, modifications, and aftermarket electrical controls needs (up to 30%).Train and work closely with entry-level Electrical Controls Engineers.Requirements:More than 5 years of experience in Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and AutoCAD.Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.Experience with electrical/controls aspects of machine design and knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.Proficiency in AutoCAD for all electrical design purposes.Familiarity with commercial products like photo sensors, pneumatics, vision systems, and hot melt systems.Proficiency in PLC code and motion controls.Understanding of machine timing concepts.Experience with electrical schematic software (AutoCAD Light, SolidWorks Electrical is a plus).Exposure to and interest in PLC and HMI programming, multi-axes coordinated motion control.Good electro-mechanical skills and understanding.Interest in hands-on machine work with sensor and actuator adjustments.Benefits:Competitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesEmployee assistance programLHH is a leader in permanent recruitment"”and in the placement of top talent.
