Vice President Operations

Position Overview:As the Vice President of Warehouse Operations you will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse functions, ensuring world-class safety, quality, productivity, and service standards. Reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP), this role will lead a multi-site distribution network of three locations, develop high-performing leaders, and drive continuous improvement while exceeding customer expectations. This role requires an experienced proven hands-on executive who can implement best-in-class warehousing strategies, optimize operational efficiencies, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and excellence. The ideal candidate has deep expertise providing effective leadership in high-volume food distribution and a proven track record of driving operational success at scale.Responsibilities:Lead a high-volume, multi-site warehouse network to support a $2.8 billion wholesale businessDevelop and execute strategies that improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectivenessImplement and continuously refine KPIs for safety, quality, service levels, and financial performanceDrive best-in-class inventory management, order fulfillment, and labor utilizationTransform & reinforce a culture of safety, ensuring commitment, compliance with OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory standardsLead and monitor food safety, sanitation, and quality assurance programsReduce safety incidents through proactive training, audits, and high level of engagementInspire, develop, and mentor a team of Directors, Operation Managers, and Warehouse LeadersFoster a performance-driven culture focused on accountability and continuous improvementDrive succession planning and leadership development to ensure long-term operational excellenceAdopt and embrace new hires to become long-term successful associatesFoster and drive a culture of engagement at all levelsEnsure best-in-class customer service, exceeding expectations for order accuracy and on-time deliveryPartner with Human Resources, Transportation, Procurement, IT and Sales teams to drive seamless end-to-end supply chain performanceOptimize warehouse layouts, slotting, and workflow to enhance efficiency and throughputManage a multi-million-dollar warehouse operations budget, ensuring cost control and efficiencyDrive lean principles and cost-reduction initiatives to improve operational marginsAnalyze key financial and operational data to support data-driven decision-makingImprove business acumen of front-line leadershipPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipExperience:Must have at least fifteen (15) years of Warehouse Operations/Distribution related experience; (five) 5 years of experience as VP or Senior Executive RolePreferred Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related fieldKnowledge of regulations, compliance requirements and industry best practicesKnowledge of Warehouse Management Systems such as but not limited to: Voice recognition technology (VoCollect), Employee Management systems (Dayforce/Ceridian), WIMS,E-mail, Voice mail etcEnvironment:Warehouse Grocery - approx. 50F - 90FWarehouse Perishable - approx. 26F - 60FWarehouse Freezer - approx. 0F - -20FSkills:Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shiftPhysical abilitiesMay be required to lift up to 75lbs.; the ability to operate required facility equipment; Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc;Strong communication Skills: Ability to provide & receive constructive feedback; communication of expectations and directions clearlyBuilding a team-based environment: Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation and team-building skills; inclusive decision makingProject Management: Results driven regarding implemented KPI's/Metrics; willingness to participate in continuous improvement projects; managing multiple deadline-based projectsQuality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
