We are seeking a Director of Computational Biology & Machine Learning to lead the development and validation of cutting-edge computational algorithms. This role will drive research-to-production transitions, working cross-functionally with assay development, clinical data science, and software engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of data scientists developing machine learning models for cancer detection using blood-based omics data.Oversee algorithm development, ensuring statistical and ML best practices for robust, interpretable models.Stay at the forefront of computational biology and ML advancements, integrating the latest research into model development.Develop a deep understanding of internal assays, workflows, and data pipelines to enhance model accuracy and reliability.Collaborate with assay, clinical, and software teams to translate research models into production-ready solutions.QualificationsPhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or related field.8+ years of experience in machine learning, including classical and modern AI methods.5+ years in biotech, pharma, or diagnostics, with increasing technical or managerial leadership.Strong expertise in Python/R, modern ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX), and cloud computing (AWS/Nvidia).Experience developing ML algorithms for biological data and working with software teams to deploy models into production.Proven track record managing technical teams and mentoring scientists/engineers.Collaborative, results-driven leader with a passion for applying AI to transform cancer detection.This role is ideal for a technical leader passionate about applying AI in biotech to drive real-world impact.What we offer full-time employees100% paid medical, dental and vision premiums for employees and dependents4 months fully paid parental leaveFlexible Time Off5 day winter break in DecemberRecruiter Note:Email: saul.hernandez@To maximize your chances, I encourage qualified candidates to provide a concise, five-bullet-point summary outlining their most notable hard skills that are relevant to this position.
