Title: Senior Accounting Manager Reports to: VP, Finance DirectorJob Summary:As Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting for US and international entities, supervising the general ledger team, coordination with parent company regarding intercompany transactions and quarterly financial audits, and leading various other projects. This role plays a key part in process improvement initiatives, internal controls, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making within the agency.Responsibilities:Financial reporting:Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring that transactions are coded and classified correctly, and journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations are reviewedCoordinate with client finance team on revenue recognition, confirming that amount recognized is appropriate and aligns with supporting client reconciliationMaintain financial statements for international entities and prepare financial consolidation for US entityAnalyze monthly financial performance against prior periods, providing detailed variance explanations and actionable insights to team leadershipTeam supervision:Manage and mentor a team of accountants, including performance evaluations, staff development, and assigning tasksPromote an environment of learning, identifying opportunities for staff to take on projects outside of their assigned responsibilitiesCoordination with parent companyMonitor intercompany transactions, ensuring intercompany agreements are in place, financial mark-up is appropriately applied and invoices/debit memos are issued and settled timelyLead for quarterly financial audits, working with parent company accounting team to provide auditors requested information, schedules and responses to inquiriesVarious other projectsPoint person for payroll and related, ensuring payroll and benefits are calculated accurately and processed timely in accordance with federal, state and local regulationsIdentifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new accounting systems ensuring they are used to the fullest potentialDesign and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risksConduct ad-hoc analysis and tasks as requestedQualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Accounting5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an advertising, marketing, or media agency environmentStrong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial consolidations for multi-entity businessesExperience managing and mentoring accounting teams, with a focus on developing staffAdvanced Excel skills and familiarity with systems like NetSuite, Quickbooks, Tipalti and ADP Workforce NowAbility to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic insights to leadershipExperience coordinating with parent companies, intercompany transactions, and external auditorsFamiliarity with advertising/media industry accounting practices, such as revenue recognition on retainer vs. project-based contracts
