Our 6-month accelerator program includes regular weekly meetings & lectures, a huge library of curriculum, in-person & virtual events, structured mentorship, Demo Day, and a community of 600+ portfolio companies around the world.PurposeWe are hiring a VC Principal in San Francisco to play a key role in driving the success of Alchemist startups. In this role, you will guide founders from investor outreach to closing capital "” and oversee the fundraising outcomes of our startups. You will also manage Alchemist's investor networks, grow Alchemist's presence in the local venture ecosystem, facilitate founder-investor intros, and orchestrate events that drive community & connections. You will lead Alchemist's strategies for founder fundraising & investor engagement, ensuring we connect our founders with the right capital & relationships to succeed, both during & beyond the Alchemist program.The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of experience in venture capital (e.g. as an Associate, Analyst, or Chief of Sta?) in the Bay Area venture ecosystem. They should be:Expert in early-stage venture capital, with a deep understanding of how investors evaluate startups, what makes a compelling pitch, and how founders should navigate the fundraising process.Passionate about working with founders, o?ering guidance, tactical advice, accountability, and candid feedback to help them succeed.A natural teacher, able to distill complex concepts into actionable directions.A strong believer in the power of community, excited to engage with founders and investors, passionate about bringing people together in-person.An experimenter, excited to experiment with new approaches to fundraising education, investor engagement, and ecosystem building.Biased toward action, enjoys rolling up their sleeves and making things happen! Loves planning, executing, and iterating in real time. Comfortable wearing many hats, tackling ambiguity, and working hands-on with a small, fast-moving team.Motivated by ownership, can excel in a high-autonomy role, excited to have direct impact on founder success.This role is perfect for someone who wants to apply their venture capital experience to foundercoaching - and who is excited about driving outcomes, shaping strategy, & building community.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInvestor Engagement. Build & nurture relationships with institutional investors & angel investors. Actively engage them in the Alchemist program. Facilitate high-quality founder-investor connections.Fundraising Education. Teach founders about venture capital fundamentals, pitching, fundraising strategies, investor dynamics. Lead workshops, facilitate weekly check-ins, run educational sessions, and create content.1:1 Founder Coaching. Guide founders through fundraising. Help them develop fundraising strategies, build investor pipelines, refine their pitches & messaging, navigate investor conversations. Deliver direct, candid feedback.Drive Outcomes: Take ownership of fundraising success across the cohorts. Measure & optimize investor engagement & founder outcomes. Ensure founders secure capital by monitoring their progress, providing tactical support, and creating connections.Events: Organize & execute investor-founder events (e.g. Pitch Showcases, Investor Dinners). You'll have the freedom to experiment on event formats to maximize founder exposure & investor engagement. (We'd like you to help reimagine our Demo Day, too!)Sourcing: Explore proactive sourcing strategies for recruiting startups for Alchemist. Help the Admissions team review final applicants and ensure alignment with LP interests.Community: Cultivate strong relationships with Alchemist founders. Be embedded in the Bay Area founder ecosystem & venture community. We do not pay for relocation.Work Arrangement: In-person. Work at least 3 full days / week at Alchemist's co-working space in downtown San Francisco. Currently, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday are in-o?ce days (though these days are subject to change).
