The Label Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all product labels meet regulatory requirements for domestic and internationally imported products. This role involves working closely with various departments, including category management, product development, manufacturing, procurement, marketing and quality assurance, to ensure that all labels are accurate, compliant, and aligned with company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food labeling regulations, including FDA and USDA, and will play a key role in ensuring the company's products, and distributed products, meet all necessary compliance standards.Key Responsibilities: Review and approve all product labels, for imported and domestic good, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations (FDA & USDA). Stay updated on changes in labeling regulations and standards, and communicate these changes to relevant departments. Ensure that all label claims (e.g., organic, non-GMO, allergen-free) are substantiated and comply with regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, category management, and marketing teams to create and review label content, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Verify ingredient lists, nutritional information, and allergen declarations for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Work with graphic designers to ensure that label layout and content meet regulatory requirements, including font size, placement of information, and required statements. Maintain accurate records of all label approvals and revisions. Develop and manage a database of approved labels and ensure all departments have access to the most current versions. Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory submissions and audits. Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that labels accurately reflect product content. Liaise with international partners to ensure that product labels meet the requirements of domestic markets. Provide guidance and training to internal teams on labeling requirements and best practices. Support regulatory inspections and audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring label compliance. Conduct internal audits of labels to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations.Position Requirements: Bachelor of Sciencein Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs or related field Minimum 3 years working experience in label compliance, regulatory affairs, quality assurance or nutritional compliance Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA and food labeling regulations HACCP certification required FSMA or PCQI preferred Maintains high level of professionalism in all interactions within team as well as with cross-functional teams Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams Comfortable with ambiguity and problem solvingCompany Profile:Lipari Foods is a regional full-line deli, bakery, packaging, and grocery distributor, headquartered in Warren, MI.
