Senior Paralegal-Real EstateOrange County, CASummary The Senior Paralegal-Real Estate is an integral part of the Firm's Legal Professional and Paralegal team. This role will be responsible for performing legal tasks, working on legal projects, and providing various support functions to supervisors, while reviewing title materials, surveys, zoning reports, lease-related documents, and other due diligence items, as well as coordinating with diligence service providers. This role will be located in their Orange County office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.Responsibilities & Qualifications • Reviewing title insurance commitments and underlying documents, resolving title issues, and finalizing title policies • Reviewing surveys, zoning reports, lease-related documents, and other due diligence items, resolving issues, as well as coordinating with diligence service providers • Preparing and maintaining transaction checklists • Preparing and/or drafting closing documents, forms, letters and other correspondence, and legal documents under the supervision of attorneys, as well as maintaining closing files • Providing support to attorneys for closings (and attends closings, if required) • Creating and maintaining calendars for closings or transactions, and distributing to supervisors and other team members • Preparing closing and other legal documents for execution, and assembling final closing and other legal documents • Following up on post-closing matters, including preparation and distributions of closing binders • Coordinating ongoing projects and activities in either on-site or off-site locations, utilizing junior paralegals, supporting departments, and secretaries when necessary • Developing procedures with supervisors for electronic or physical tracking, coding, and ensuring quality control systems for documents, including recorded documents • Anticipating typical work for a closing or transaction, and working with supervisors to ensure all aspects are addressed • Demonstrating effective verbal and written communication with clients, outside vendors, and other parties • Coordinating the timely completion of a closing or transaction to comply with Firm policies and procedures • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that the Firm retainsWe'd love to hear from you if you • Demonstrate knowledge of basic corporate structures and UCC matters • Have experience in title, survey, zoning, and other related diligence review • Have experience assisting on commercial, multi-state real estate transactions from origination to finalization of post-closing matters • Possess knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office Suite (especially Excel), and other programs necessary to complete thorough analyses and reports • Possess well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, management, support staff and outside contacts and service providersAnd have • A Bachelor's degree (and signed declaration if located in a California office), or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program • A minimum of ten (10) years of related law firm experience as a Real Estate Paralegal • Experience in title and survey review • Experience assisting on commercial, multi-state real estate transactionsBenefits & Additional Information Successful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
