This dynamic role blends hands-on mentorship with university-level instruction, allowing you to develop residents daily while also serving as an adjunct professor for our prestigious university partner. If you're ready to inspire, lead, and leave a lasting legacy, this is your moment!RESPONSIBILITIESDesign & Facilitate Graduate-Level Coursework - Develop and lead coursework aligned with the graduate program scope and CQA's vision for standards-driven, inquiry-based learning. Residency Coaches specialize in priority content areas (STEM, Humanities, etc.) and collaborate with the Residency Director to shape the learning arc for their focus area.Coach & Mentor Future Educators - Guide a cohort of 8-10 residents, delivering actionable, high-impact feedback that strengthens instructional practice and student investment. Residents must complete 1,000 clinical hours throughout the program.Assess & Elevate Resident Performance - Monitor and evaluate resident progress to ensure full preparation for NYS certification requirements and alignment with CQA Next's benchmarks for exemplary teaching.Drive Program Vision & Collaboration - Support the Residency Director in executing the program's mission while working with CQA's Instructional Leadership Teams to align on shared goals for students and educators.Engage Stakeholders & Build Partnerships - Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and open communication.Participate in Professional Development - Engage in ongoing PD and coordination meetings with university partners each semester.Contribute to Program Growth - Support program development initiatives as needed to enhance the residency experience.QUALIFICATIONS-These qualifications MUST be met (NO EXCEPTIONS)Master's Degree Required - Must hold a Master's in Curriculum, Instruction, Special Education, or a related field.Proven Classroom Expertise - Minimum of 10+ years of teaching and/or leadership experience at the elementary or middle school level, with a track record of driving student achievement and a passion for learning.NYS Certified Educator - NYS Teaching Certification in Elementary Education and/or Special Education is required.Content Area Mastery - Deep expertise in Humanities and/or STEM instruction, with 5+ years of direct teaching experience in the content area.Teacher Development & Coaching Experience - Skilled in coaching educators, refining instructional practice, and driving sustainable change in pedagogy and mindset.Equity-Driven & Student-Focused - A passionate advocate for educational equity, committed to empowering children and communities through high-quality instruction.Growth-Minded & Resilient - Embraces challenges with a growth mindset, seeing setbacks as opportunities to learn, adapt, and improve.Emotionally Intelligent & Self-Aware - Strong empathy, self-regulation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate challenges with emotional intelligence.Culturally Conscious & Reflective - Understands the impact of identity on power, access, and belonging, fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.Deeply Committed to CQA's Mission - Seeks to grow as an educator and community member, contributing to the collective success of the CQA team.In-Person Availability - Must be able to work on-site at CQA's campus in Queens, New York.COMPENSATION & BENEFITSBase salary range of $100K-$115K, plus a per-semester stipend for the adjunct faculty role with our university partner.Flexible Work Arrangements - Enjoy remote work options and flexible hours to support work-life balance.Generous Paid Time Off - Approximately 40 vacation days, additional personal days, and shortened summer hours.Retirement & Financial Perks - 403(B) retirement plan with employer matching to support long-term financial security.Health & Wellness Benefits - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus mental health resources and support.Work-Life Balance Support - Paid caretaker leave and initiatives designed to prioritize well-being.
