Wavelength has built a reputation for excellence and professionalism in a challenging marketplace, and has an incredible team doing big things.About the roleThe Estimator will support the complex process of bidding lighting work, from takeoff review to buyout, without missing a detail. The Estimator will partner with a wide array of individuals: clients, manufacturers, rep agencies, and the team internally. The preferred candidate is familiar with architectural drawings and the process of bidding and procurement in the construction industry.ResponsibilitiesProcess incoming bids in an organized manner, reviewing instructions, downloading drawings, and organizing filesManage the takeoff process, liaising with the Takeoff team to ensure drawings are accurately and quickly reviewedReview architectural drawings and documents produced by the Takeoff team, and develop RFIs as neededInterface with the lighting procurement marketplace and create and consolidate RFQs Conduct quality control checks to ensure the full scope of the project including controls, inverters, and miscellaneous equipment is capturedUnderstand the technical elements of a project and decipher what specification flexibility is allowed in a given scopeCreate proposals for internal and client reviewWho we are looking forAttention to detail: In construction, details are everything, so the right candidate is capable of managing complexity without errorExcellent communicator: Estimating when done well involves clear, frequent communication, so the Estimator needs to have excellent written and verbal communication skillsCollaborative self-starter: The Estimator will be someone who manages themselves effectively with an independent work ethic while also collaborating closely with Wavelength team members to enhance the estimating processExcited about Wavelength: The Wavelength team is ambitious, and we are looking for team members who are as well.
