This will be achieved by fostering a culture centered on continuous improvement to generate transformative gains in efficiency, innovation, collaboration, and automation. Through these efforts, we aim to elevate the experience of our employees, customers, and suppliers, creating enduring value and setting new standards.You will bring your proven track record of leading Lean Six Sigma programs in a manufacturing setting and drive continuous improvement initiatives across our facilities, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with Penn Color's commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.Preferred Education:Bachelors degree in either industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, plastics engineering, quality management, or a similar B.S. degree where the scientific method and critical problem-solving skills are developed.Minimum of a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and practical knowledge of cost savings and KPI tracking.Ideal candidate has experience in managing a small team, quality systems and/or projects.Ideal candidate has experience in business strategies including a minor in business administration or MBA.Technical Skills and Experience:Must be a master communicatorExperience in operations and manufacturingThe ideal candidate has experience with liquid dispersions or finished coatings.Must have experience with liquid dispersion equipment, including media and basket mills and other upstream/downstream technologies.Minimum of 5 years in process improvement within a manufacturing environmentProven experience leading Lean Six Sigma programsBackground in statistical process control and value stream mappingBackground in Total productive maintenance and FMEAStrong project management and change management skillsInterpersonal Skills and Mindset:Natural and competitive team leaderAble to inspire those around you and to influence a broad range of individuals, from plant floor to executive levelHungry for growth within the company and a true desire to elevate those around youThirsty for change and knowledge, with a true desire to make a difference and to help others achieve their goalsAn integrator and big picture thinkerOpen-mindedHumble and flexibleAn innovator and problem solverData-drivenWilling to travel domestically and internationallyWhat YOU Can Do For UsLead Lean Six Sigma Programs to eliminate process inefficiencies:Develop Six Sigma projects using the DMAIC principles:Implement projects with departmental(s) buy in and timeline strategies.Control projects via metrics of success and KPIs.Willingness to start over or course correct where necessary specifically around sustaining implementations.Develop Lean projects targeting Waste (TIMWOOD) in both manufacturing and general business practicesTrack Cost Savings and Success Rate:Research and implement software to visualize and quantify projects, examples:Open vs CompletedProjected Savings vs Actual SavingsProjects in each DMAIC stageImplementation & Sustainment RateFoster 3rd party consultant relations to leverage project scope, implementation/planning, and training solutions.Continue education and development of advancements and theories in Lean Six SigmaDevelop and document Penn Color's best practices to ensure consistency across manufacturing goalsCommunication & Soft SkillsAbility to pitch ideas to get full commitment from a sponsor and their team.Flexibility and willingness to redesign for reasonable accommodations but also ability to change the minds of tenured employees.
