Senior OD/ID Grinding Technician

Position Overview:Set-up and operate CNC OD/ID grinders to meet production and quality requirements.Essential Job Functions:Ability to operate machinery as requiredVerify part quantity with the job travelerMake machine adjustments as required to maintain print specificationsLoad and unload machines as per the cycle time noted on the travelerStudy and determine the part tolerances and methods of measurement for each jobAbility to run more than one machine maintaining run times as requiredSet-up machinesUse micrometers, height gages, and optical comparators and visual checks for part inspectionMaintain clean and organized department and work areaCommunicate with coworkers and supervisor as neededDetermine when wheels needs replacementAssist in determining tooling & fixturing needsTake parts to inspection when necessaryUse inspection methods to determine size changesAnalyze blueprints & travelersComplete all necessary paperwork as required in a timely & accurate mannerNon-Essential Job Functions:Train others as neededWork on miscellaneous projects as neededConserves energy and organizational resources when possibleSkills/Requirements:5 years + job shop precision OD and ID grinding STRONGLY PREFERRED (centerless grinding not applicable)CNC familiarity strongly preferredAbility to reading blueprintsAbility to think critically and ask questions of others in order to foster continuous learning effortsAbility to use micrometers, indicators, and precision gagesAttention to detailMaintain confidentialityDevelops alternative solutions when neededAbility to multi-taskAbility to adhere to 6S and lean standardsBasic general inspection equipment knowledge and skillsBasic materials knowledgeCommunication skills to train others as neededBasic math & geometry skillsNew salary range of $35-$50 per hour for this direct hire position!Benefits: Medical, Dental, Prescription, Eye; Paid vacation and paid personal time; Life insurance; 401K; FSA; Education opportunities
