Bill Watts at Robert Half is partnering with a stable and growing distribution company that is located in the Auburn Hills area who is looking to directly hire a General Manager to lead the operations, warehousing and customer service departments!Job Summary:The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading and optimizing the warehousing operations across multiple distribution facilities while ensuring exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing inventory management, logistics, order fulfillment, and customer support functions to drive efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a strong background in distribution, warehousing, and logistics, with experience in managing multi-site operations and customer service teamsKey Responsibilities:Warehousing & Distribution Operations:Oversee the operations of multiple warehouse facilities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with safety regulations.Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping processesEnsure warehouse staff follow best practices in handling, storage, and transportation of textile products.Collaborate with logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective distributionMonitor KPIs such as order accuracy, warehouse productivity, and turnaround times to drive performance improvements.Implement lean principles and automation strategies to improve warehousing efficiency.Customer Service Management:Lead the customer service department, ensuring high standards of responsiveness, problem resolution, and satisfactionDevelop and implement customer service policies and training programs to enhance team performance.Monitor customer feedback and complaints, addressing issues proactively and implementing continuous improvement initiativesWork closely with sales and operations teams to ensure smooth order processing and issue resolution.Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:Oversee inventory accuracy, reducing shrinkage and obsolescence.Implement inventory control systems to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of stockAnalyze supply chain trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance product availability.Financial & Business Performance:Develop and manage budgets for warehousing and customer service operations, ensuring cost efficiency.Identify opportunities for reducing operational costs while maintaining quality and service levelsAnalyze business performance metrics and present reports to senior leadership.Implement strategic plans to increase operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfactionLeadership & Team Development:Lead and mentor warehouse managers, supervisors, and customer service teamsFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide ongoing training and development opportunitiesEnsure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policiesQualifications:Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).10+ years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or supply chain management.5+ years in a leadership role overseeing multiple facilities and teams.Experience in the textile, apparel, or related distribution industry preferred.Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and logistics technologyExperience with inventory management best practices and supply chain optimizationUnderstanding of customer service management platforms and order processing systemsProficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and performance trackingSoft Skills:Strong leadership and team-building abilities.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-location operational environmentCustomer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with warehousing and distribution challengesKnowledge of lean warehousing principles and process improvement methodologiesCompensation & Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Performance-based bonus incentives.Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).Professional development and career growth opportunities.
