Logistics Supervisor

Job Description:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Supervisor to oversee and manage the operational execution of air, ground, and ocean shipments from our Columbus, OH office. This leadership role is responsible for guiding a logistics team, optimizing shipping operations, and ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with shipping regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics coordination and a proven ability to lead and improve team performance.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a logistics team of 3-5 operators, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure efficient operationsOversee and coordinate the end-to-end logistics process for air, ground, and ocean shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveriesDevelop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levelsMonitor shipment scheduling, documentation, and tracking to maintain visibility and optimize workflow efficiencyAct as the primary point of contact for escalated shipping issues, collaborating with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve delays and challengesEnsure compliance with local, national, and international shipping regulations, including customs clearance and documentation requirementsAnalyze shipping costs and operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvementsOversee the utilization of logistics software and tracking systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting for internal stakeholdersBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and transportation partners to optimize logistics performanceEstablish and enforce best practices for logistics operations, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standardsQualifications:5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation coordination, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership roleStrong knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes, including air, ground, and maritime logisticsProficiency in logistics management software and tracking systemsExcellent leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and negotiation skills to manage relationships with carriers, vendors, and internal teamsExperience analyzing logistics data to drive operational improvements and cost efficienciesFamiliarity with customs regulations and compliance procedures is a plus
