And you'll be responsible for meeting the many challenges of a robust project portfolio. So, although you'll have a team of talented peers and a participative manager to brainstorm with, you'll need to be a self-starter, an independent decision-maker, and well-organized and disciplined in your execution.Solidus's Field Superintendents manage one project at a time. Field Superintendents can travel to their project or live in temporary housing provided by Solidus. The successful candidate will be involved in every process phase, from pre-construction meetings to final construction. This position requires traveling throughout the territories we serve. Travel expenses are paid by Solidus.ResponsibilitiesAs a Commercial Field Superintendent, you will be the driving force behind our commercial construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:Overseeing all stages of the project life cycle and coordinating construction activities.Developing and maintaining construction schedules, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.Coordinating with subcontractors, managing their schedules, and ensuring they comply with all project specifications.Utilizing construction management software to streamline project management and improve communication among team members.Ensuring all construction activities comply with health and safety regulations.Managing tenant improvements and ensuring minimal disruption to existing operations.Conducting regular site inspections and resolving any issues or delays that arise.Working closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.QualificationsTo thrive in this exciting role, you will need:A minimum of 10 years of experience as a superintendent or in a similar role within the commercial construction industry.Proven experience in managing schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, and overseeing design-build commercial construction projects.Proficiency in using Smartsheet or similar construction management software.Extensive knowledge of construction processes, means, methods, and materials.Excellent leadership and project management skills.The ability to travel frequently and be on-site as required.Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.LocationsImmediate need in Massachusetts. New England, New Jersey, and New YorkWork EnvironmentFrequent lifting, sitting, standing, stooping for prolonged periods, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity, should have good hand-eye coordination and motion control in coordination with handling tools, equipment, and other related components.May be indoors or outdoors, subject to confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels.Traveling RequirementThis position is for a Field Superintendent. Field Superintendents may be required to stay out of town M-F during the duration of a project but not during the weekends. Solidus provides housing and per diem.
