Prototype Machinist - Aerospace Manufacturing

We are seeking a highly skilled prototype CNC machinist to join our client's team in Hanover Park, IL. This role offers the opportunity to work on one-off aerospace components and precision production parts, requiring expertise in manual programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills and lathes. If you thrive in a hands-on machining environment and enjoy the challenge of producing complex, high-tolerance parts, we want to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:Program and operate CNC mills (3-4 axis VMC) and CNC lathes (2-4 axis) to machine precision aerospace prototypes and production components.Perform manual programming using G-Code and M-Code, optimizing machining operations for accuracy and efficiency.Set up machines for both prototype and production runs, ensuring proper tooling, workholding, and alignment.Interpret and apply GD&T principles to accurately machine parts per engineering drawings and specifications.Qualifications:Proven experience as a CNC machinist with prototype machining expertise.Strong proficiency in manual programming (G-Code and M-Code) for both mills and lathes.Deep understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.Hands-on experience with CNC mills (3-4 axis VMC) and CNC lathes (2-4 axis), including setups and troubleshooting.
