A midstream energy provider is hiring an Automation Engineer to provide I&E and automation engineering support for midstream facilities. The Automation Engineer will support and manage the automation lab and is responsible for providing engineering support within the design, construction, and commissioning phases of midstream facilities. Other responsibilities include providing technical support for control system design with hardware, panel design, software, and HMI layout, the development of standard practices relating to the instrumentation for the controls and monitoring of midstream facilities and managing 3rd party contractors in the implementation of project execution associated with I&E and control systems. The Automation Engineer's main responsibility is to support operations in upgrades and modifications to existing facilities - this could include reviewing engineering packages, receiving and reporting testing results, and maintaining communication with 3rd party vendors. Additional responsibilities may include alarm management support. This involves the rationalizing, categorizing using PSS (PlantState Suite), and changing the alarm setting. This individual must have a background in alarm management but also understand automation programing - taking alarms and categorizing them based on priority. This role is hybrid (3 days in the office), and it will require travel up to 25% with some overnight stays.
