Quality Inspector

Position: Quality InspectorIndustry: AerospaceLocation: Chatsworth California 91311Shift: 1st shiftPay range: $22 - $28 an hourPosition Summary:We are seeking a skilled Layout Inspector to join our Client's quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting precise inspections and verifications of machined and fabricated parts to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined and fabricated components.Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and other metrology tools.Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate part compliance.Document inspection results, non-conformances, and deviations in accordance with company procedures.Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.Ensure all inspected parts meet customer, industry, and internal quality requirements before release.Maintain a clean and organized inspection area, adhering to safety and quality standards.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection efficiency and accuracy.Qualifications & Requirements:3-5 years of experience in layout inspection or precision quality control within a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and CMM operation (preferred but not required).Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.Experience with inspection documentation is a plus.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
