Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Leader. Our client has positioned itself as an industry expert in machined parts and assemblies. Capabilities across US, Mexico and China include Quality Precision Machining, Metalworking, and Engineering. Across various industries inclusive of: Agriculture, Construction Equipment, Defense, Trucking: Off and On Highway, Oil & Gas, Wind & Solar and Aerospace.This leader will be responsible for:The successful hire will be comfortable being "hands-on" and on the floor helping people and helping to engineer for tight tolerance, high-risk aerospace machining to be more efficient and produce parts on time, ensuring quality adherence processes are in place as well as working proactively with the senior leadership to develop and implement initiatives which aide in the scalability within the market. Ideally, you will have demonstrated strong proven experience in CNC Machining experience with small parts in Aerospace industry in a state of the art, climate-controlled facility and a clean environment. Operating under strict quality guidelines adhering to our AS9100, ISO9001 and ITAR Certifications utilizing mechanical inspection methods such as Caliper, Micrometer, CMM, etc.This leader is pivotal in the growth and profitability with the anticipated doubling of the Aerospace business size in 3 yrs. and across capacity of two plants.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHire, retain and lead high-functioning, diverse group of direct reportsEnsures standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained in accordance with ISO requirements.Partners with Quality Inspector(s) to ensure compliance with all quality systems requirements, and streamline operating proceduresOversees all tasks needed to design, implement and maintain a robust quality system including but not limited to.Maintaining, updating and auditing ISO 9001 quality systemPursue and ensure compliance with all certifications required for various product typesEnsure proper record keeping and present quality data to executive team. • Propose quality initiatives and changes to improve performance.Ensure all quality processes and procedures are being followed daily and update to match new processes as required.Promote quality at source and ensure employees have the training and tools needed to promote a high quality work environment.Conduct regular trainings for new processes and refresher trainings for existing processes as needed to ensure improvement. (Train personnel on quality standards and requirements.)Ensure Quality department is staffed to meet production demands across multiple shifts.Ensure all calibrations and associated records are maintained.Vendor Quality Surveys/Audits for vendor approval; handle any customer returns and vendor claims.Work with receiving and shipping inspection and quality control functions as needed.Maintain approved vendor list and quality historyHelp ensure required publications are kept currentSpend time as needed with personnel on night and weekend shift to ensure quality success.Skills & AbilitiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including NCRs, CAPA, ECN, Calibration records, and inspection reports.Monitor scrap program and ensure scrap documentation is properly maintainedPrepare and submit maintenance reports and performance metrics to senior management.Develop and manage the quality budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsAbility to identify and work through complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Ability to consider relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriateAbility to analyze, strategically think and possess sound business judgmentAbility to organize actions or items in a certain order or pattern according to a specific set of rulesAbility to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusionsAbility to implement the President/Owner's vision to meet Company goalsAbility to lead, motivate, train, and delegate in a mentorship/coaching collaborative mannerEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree or 10 to 15 years of relevant experienceProven experience as Program Quality Manager or equivalent positionMust have strong proven CNC Machining experience w/small parts in the Aerospace industryExperience on the floor, "hands-on" helping people and engineering to be more efficient and produce parts on time, ensuring fixes are in placeMust be a strong collaborative leader, motivator, trainer, and delegate as a mentor/coach.Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes including but not limited to engineering, tooling, machining, assembly, shipping/receiving, and qualityExperience in strategic planning and executionExceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with supervisors and variety of departments, as well as be an active member during the company's senior level-management meetingsSuperb written and verbal communicationExperience working with manufacturing-based technology is preferred.Solid organizational and leadership abilitiesIn-depth knowledge of business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.)Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ERPsWorking knowledge of data analysis, performance/operations metrics
