One of our global Chemical Manufacturing clients is seeking an entry-level laboratory technician to join their growing Research & Development team in Richmond, VA. This individual will perform bench tests in a chemical lab to support ATF, Gear, Off-Road, and MTF formulators. They would work relatively autonomous after the training period on a team of 8-10 other Technicians. Other responsibilities include:Performs formulation, synthesis, and/or testing activities to meet established project objectivesEvaluates and interprets data, performance, and deliverables.Provides recommendations to R&D and project leaders regarding results, deliverables, progress and challenges.Engages with assigned teams and cross-functional stakeholders, such as business, process, marketing, etcComplete complex analytical testing procedures, in-depth analysis and interpretation and provide a detailed and accurate test report to the customer in a timely manner.Evaluate all test/project data to ensure accuracy, completeness and reasonability of conclusions.Complete collation of data, final interpretation and written test reports.Understand, comply, and promote safe laboratory and work practices, including appropriate safety regulations and procedures.Assure that complete documentation is maintained on ISO or Quality System related activities.Participate in Quality System related activities and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Quality System functions & responsibilities.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a science-related fieldPrior hands on laboratory experienceExperience with organic synthesis or sample testing is preferredPay: $21.00/hr (flexible based on experience)Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pmHiring Method: 6 month contract to permanent hireBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision and 401K plans availableExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
