POSITION: Production ManagerREPORTS TO: Plant Manager/ Director of OperationsJOB SUMMARY and KEY OBJECTIVES: We are looking for a Production Manager to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. You will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The successful candidate will have the key skills to develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDrive a culture of high performance and accountability in Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Service, and CostPlan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectationsIncrease production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standardsMonitor and review performance metrics and implement corrective actionsUtilize continuous improvement to enhance overall plant performanceDemonstrate floor presence across all weekly shifts for consistent application of leadership and company policyBe responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shippingAllocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal resultsImplement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focusShare a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staffCoach and develop supervisors and teams on all shiftsCollect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtimeCommit to plant safety proceduresAddress employees' issuesInfluence and learn from all team membersStay up to date with the latest production management best practices and conceptsDevelop and control profits, plans, and budgetImplement cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salariesManages capital asset maintenanceProvide leadership and training to accomplish the company's positive culture journeyEMPLOYEE SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:All inclusiveForklift training, qualifying and disqualifyingFollow through with Supervisors to assure they enforce all employee safety policies and proceduresFollow all common employee safety practices, lead by exampleEnsure all employee safety training is completed annuallyTrain new employees within 90 days on all required trainingFOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Basic understanding of the HACCP programGood understanding of the written allergen programGood understanding of the glass and hard plastics policyGood understanding of the AIB audit process and SQF audit processAbility to identify food safety violations in the production facilityMust follow all food safety/security regulations and related SOPsMust report all events that require action to personnel with authority to correct/resolve deviationsWhen this position has an absence, it will be covered by an equally trained manager from Ops, QA, or SQFEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEProven working experience as a production managerProven managerial experienceAdequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertiseBe knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes (SQF, HACCP, AIB, USDA, OSHA)Computer literacyAbility to create accountability and to lead by exampleStrong team building, decision-making, and people management skillsBS degree in Business Management or related field and 6-10 years' experienceJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insuranceRelocation assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayWeekendsExperience:Manufacturing: 4 years (Preferred)Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
