Our client are an industry leading Heavy Civil Contractor, one of the largest and most successful in the USA. They construct and rehabilitate highways, bridges, tunnels, mass-transit systems, and water management and wastewater treatment facilities. From coast to coast, their projects are highly complex and range from hundreds of millions to billions of dollars in value.DESCRIPTION:As a Sr. Structural Engineer, reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:Perform tasks on projects requiring a broad and / or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering.Perform structural analysis and design; including but not limited to reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design and timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan / rigging, bridge deck, etc.Implement design and ensure conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.Prepare and review calculations for analysis along with preparing engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals.Prepare working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needsREQUIREMENTS:A Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or similar from accredited institution and 10 or more years of relevant experience. Bridge experience required. Masters degree focused in structural engineering is preferredPE license (NY or NJ) required, NY is preferredProficient in using Structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISAProficient working knowledge of Excel and MathcadProficient working knowledge, understanding, and application of critical industry accepted codes; IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO and AWSMaintain membership in industry organization (AISC, AWI, RCSC) and continued professional development for PE LicenseMust have the ability to organize and handle multiple tasksStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal directionExperience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area preferredThe salary range for this position is between $200,000 and $250,000 depending on experience.
