We are a portfolio company looking for an experienced, certified HR Generalist with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. The Generalist partners with the operation leadership teams to ensure that all activities are consistent with and supportive of the company values and policies and makes an effort to build a respectful and positive culture within the stores.Responsibilities of the HR Generalist:Be the employee relations, documentation, and investigation lead, helping reinforce Company policy and procedures Communicate and enforce Company policies, procedures, and new initiatives according to company standards Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and legal ResponsibilitiesAssist with communicating benefits eligibility and administrationBuild strong relationships with our company's Managers in order to help them with their human resource needs Work with other managing departments, to continually add to and improve positive culture and communication within the organization Follow up on all outstanding issues within a reasonable time frame, communicating any barriers for resolution or issuesHelp manage job openings as needed through the Applicant Tracking SystemGather and analyze data as assigned to help leadership develop action items to: address any issues, improve engagement, increase positive employee retention and performanceAssist with new hire onboarding, send offer letters and background checks as neededCommunicate with Management during employee termination processes ensuring all required documentation has been receivedRespond to unemployment claims in a timely manner attending hearings as neededAssist with interviewing and hiring for Management positions as needed by screening Management candidates for qualifications, conduct work history verifications and reference checks, schedule and conduct initial phone or video interviewsMust have tact and know how to navigate through tough conversations, read between the lines, and "dig" for detailsUnderstanding the Company job descriptions and required competenciesMaintain in depth knowledge about all current hiring laws and practices for federal and all applicable states, research and communicate changes in the law(s) to all stakeholders to maintain standardsAssist with insurance filing, workers comp and disability reportingUnderstanding of FMLA, disability laws and communicate requests for reasonable accommodationsOther related duties as assigned, see full job descriptionQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, or related areaSHRM-CP or PHR certification3+ years' of experience working in Human Resources2+ years' of HR Generalist experience managing an ATS, benefits administration, employee relations and investigationsPrior Restaurant Management (or Restaurant HR) experience preferredTechnology Skills including but not limited to: POS back office, MS Office including proficiency with Excel, Dropbox, HRIS system management (Paylocity preferred), ATS system management Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsPhysical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with company policies and procedures, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance Frequently required to see, talk and hear.
