Legal Assistant - Civil LitigationHybrid schedule - downtown Portland, OR$70,000-$80,000/annually DOEDirect Hire ResponsibilitiesDocument Preparation: Utilize word processing software to prepare legal documents and correspondence, proofread, format, and handle revisions as directed.Mail and Communication: Review and route incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail, faxes, and emails, ensuring completeness and accuracy.Calendar Management: Maintain attorneys' calendars, schedule appointments, and prepare reminders to ensure timely follow-up on matters and deadlines.File Management: Organize paper and electronic files, mark documents for proper filing, and coordinate with records staff to maintain client files.Financial Coordination: Handle expense reimbursement, prepare billing letters, and assist in client billing matters.Administrative Support: Process new matter forms, manage phone calls, receive clients, arrange travel, schedule meetings, and update contact databases.Team Collaboration: Demonstrate effective teamwork, assist other legal assistants, and serve as a backup when needed.QualificationsMinimum of two years of legal assistance experience in civil law or insurance defenseUnderstanding of legal terminology, documents, and processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database/client relationship management software.Experience with e-filing in Oregon; familiarity with Washington e-filing desirable.Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, and work both independently and in a team.Located in Portland, the Specialized Recruitment Group is an esteemed, niche-based professional recruitment firm that thrives in partnering with companies at the local, regional, and national levels to identify exceptional talent across diverse industries.
