ERSG is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Inspector focusing on the O&M building construction in Brooklyn, NY with a large offshore wind developer with multiple projects confirmed off the east coast. This candidate will play an important role in shaping and accelerating the energy transition towards offshore wind. Please Note: This is a 12-month contract position with potential contract extension(s). We are looking for individuals commutable or open to relocating to Brooklyn, New York (unfortunately no relocation is provided). This position is open to individuals who have the right to work in the United States without sponsorship. We offer health/dental/vision insurance, and you will become eligible for 401K with a 4% match after 12 months of employment.Core working hours 7 am - 3:30 pm.Responsibilities:Perform quality process, product, system, and compliance audits on O&M Building (OMB) Construction at SBMT Port Upgrade Project, and other areas of construction, as needed.Verify construction complies with applicable specifications, often working with third party inspectors.Write and issue reports relating to results of construction audits.Verify that non-conformances have been written and track through resolution for items failing to meet required specification.Ensure the submission of corrective and preventive actions for detected nonconformances.Work with Contractor(s), subcontractors, system delivery, and Empire's project management to validate that controls and procedures are in place and working and provide confirmation that adherence to controls and procedures is recorded in a systematic manner and available for review.Identify and implement opportunities for quality control improvements.Provide instructions and statistical reports, forms, and charts to support the quality control programOMB Specific Requirements/skills:Conduct inspections of steel fabrication processes, including cutting, drilling, and shaping of steel members, Welding and bolting of connections, Surface preparation and painting, Dimensional accuracy and tolerancesInspect the erection of steel buildings, including alignment and plumbness of columns and beams, Proper installation of bracing and connections, Compliance with safety regulationsCollaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to address quality issues and ensure corrective actions are takenVerify compliance with relevant building codes and standards (e.g., AISC, AWS)Understanding of Non-Destructive Testing methods like Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual Testing (VT)Experience:Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred7+ years proven experience in quality assurance/control and auditing in construction or manufacturingProficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office applicationsGood knowledge about construction/manufacturing industry products and processesExcellent oral and communication skillsExcellent presentation and reporting skillsGood team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervisionSafety mindsetEmployment Requirements:This position requires full-time onsite at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal.Must be able to work outdoors in an active construction environment.
