Job Summary:The Maintenance Mechanic will lead all mechanical troubleshooting and repairs to keep equipment running and minimize downtime while supporting all other members of the maintenance group with any other repairs, projects, etc. deemed necessary by the department manager.Essential Job Functions:Lead mechanical troubleshooting and repairsProficient at identifying and repairing air leaks, water leaks, glue leaks, oil leaksProficient at identifying and repairing steam leaksProficient at troubleshooting and repairing pumps and pump systemsProficient at working on pneumatic and hydraulic systemsProficient at troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing cylindersProficient at working with a variety of mechanical hardware (various sizes/threads/etc.)Proficient at fabricating / repairing damaged, bent, and broken parts using various methods (welding, fastening, machining, etc.)Assist with mechanical PM as neededProficient at disassembling and reassembling various racking, equipment, etc.Proficient at working with bushings, bearings, locking collars, sprockets, chains, drive belts, pulleys, tensioners, miscellaneous belts and lacersProficient at understanding and applying tolerances / square / parallelProficient at leading the setup and rigging for roll changes and larger repairsProficient at reading schematics and mechanical printsProficient at understanding normal machine function and operation to quickly and accurately diagnose problem and then decide on best course of action to repairBasic electrical troubleshooting and repairsIn addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to: exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate a positive attitude, communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, work with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, maintain good attendance by working when and where directed, work safely in compliance with all safety policies, respect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possible, and exercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possible.The employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required and assigned from time to time.High School Diploma/GED preferredA minimum of 8 years' industrial electrical experienceA valid, current driver's license preferredGood verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with contractors, service techs (onsite/phone support), and fellow employeesUnderstands various aspects of an industrial facility including structural, electrical, plumbing systems, etc.Ability to work additional hours and weekends as necessary to meet business plan objectivesMust be willing to attend various trainings to improve plant operations / skill setsThe proposed Pay rate for this position is $40.83/hr plus gain sharing.Machines/Tools/Equipment:Assortment of hand and small power tools, , hammer drills and concrete equipment, lathe, mill, drill, band saw, welders, hydraulic presses, computer, basic office equipment, tow motor, etc.Safety:Employees are expected to follow all facility safety guidelines that include adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety as outlined during their training.
