Come join us on this journey to create a brighter, more sustainable future in the Columbus area.Job Summary:As the Payroll Manager at Illuminate USA, you'll lead accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll operations, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time. You'll manage payroll processing, tax compliance, benefits integration, and audits while collaborating with HR and finance to streamline processes. With a keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset, you'll keep payroll running smoothly, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and provide exceptional support to employees. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love bringing order to the numbers, this is the role for you!Responsibilities:Oversee the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll on a bi-weekly or semi-monthly basis.Ensure precise calculations of hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.Supervise and review employee timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with company policies and labor laws.Collaborate with HR and benefits teams to manage and update employee benefits data related to payroll.Ensure the accurate calculation and timely remittance of payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local deductions.Maintain organized and confidential payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and changes to employee information.Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors promptly.Oversee the payroll processes for new hires and ensure proper procedures for employee terminations.Prepare insightful payroll-related reports for management, finance, and HR teams, contributing to effective labor cost management and budgeting.Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, ensuring that payroll processes align with legal requirements.Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries, resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar managerial role, demonstrating strong understanding of payroll processing and tax compliance.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and maintain data security.Knowledge of relevant labor laws and regulations.Ability to multi-task with attention to details and a high level of accuracy.Advanced proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and timekeeping systems such as ADP Workforce Now and MS Excel.Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, and startup environment where a high degree of flexibility is required.Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.Illuminate USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
