TEC truly offers the convenience of one-stop shopping for all trucking-related needs.Overview:This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks. We offer in-house advanced-training opportunities - we are one of only three dealer groups in North America that is certified to conduct all Mack/Volvo training up to the master tech certification within our in-house Training Centers. We cover travel costs for our technicians to attend training. We also offer a family-oriented work environment.Sign on bonus of up to $5,000 available depending upon experience/skill levelResponsibilities:Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicle to proper operating conditionPerform routine and preventative maintenance services. Identify worn and damaged parts all parts to include major components, repairing, adjusting, or replacing as neededTroubleshooting with diagnostic software - charging systems, brakes, suspensions, A/C systemMaintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairsAbility to be on task to meet shop quality and efficiency standardsMaintain safe and organized work areaFollow all state and federal vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards; follow company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulationsMust use all safety equipment necessary for the jobMaintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publicationsVerify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systemsQualifications:Minimum 3-6 years of practical experience in commercial 6 & 8 truck classesAble to perform preventative maintenance services such as oil & transmission changes, replacement of light body components and lights & sensors, etc.Proficient in the repair and diagnosis of: diesel engines; interior & exterior cab components, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and brakesProficient in use of all tools of tradeBasic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic softwareBe able to provide a detailed written analysis and computer input of the three C's (complaint, cause, correction) as well as details on any repairsAbility to meet physical demands of the job (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.)Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work in a safe and alert mannerValid driver's license and able to meet insurance requirements.
