Highly accoladed fine dining group is seeking a first-rate Wine Director for one of their flagship restaurant concepts. Looking for this person to take over ownership of the wine program and maintain its excellence, and manage all wine operations, programs, and processes for the restaurant. This role will spearhead ordering, inventory, tastings, and training/education of staff, in addition to supporting the FOH team on the floor and engaging with guests. A collaborative leadership style, excellent training skills, and a track record of creating/maintaining successful wine programs is essential. This is an ultra-fine dining environment that will require a high level of organization and understanding of luxury hospitality/service standards. Experience working in Michelin-starred establishments (preferably 2-3 stars) and/or luxury hotels is required.Responsibilities & Candidate Qualifications:4+ years' experience as a Wine Director, Beverage Director, Master/Lead Sommelier, Bar Director, Wine Manager, or comparable wine management role in a full-service, chef driven, fine-dining restaurant environment is requiredMichelin (preferably 2-3 star), Forbes, James Beard recognized, or comparable fine dining restaurant experience is requiredCourt of Master Sommeliers or equivalent reputable wine certificationOpen to candidates coming from luxury hotel backgrounds with a high service pedigreeExtensive wine knowledge; including characteristics, producers, wineries, regions, varietals, food pairings, and serviceAbility to manage inventory while maximizing profitability In touch with the fine dining scene and excited to continue to grow and change with the timesPassionate, hands-on leaderAbility to thrive in a hands-on, high-touch service environmentCreative and collaborative mindsetKnowledge of Food & Beverage service, spirits & cocktails, creating and developing, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising & accountingMust have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidaysPassion and dedication to consistently educate the team and guests on beverage offerings, pairings and tasting notesCommitment to creating a welcoming, memorable, and unique guest experienceExcellent problem-solving skills and always puts the guest firstDetail oriented - especially product quality and safety, sanitation, and cleanlinessAbility to create strong relationships with guests and staffHighly organized and efficientClear communicator and strong listenerUnderstands and analyzes costs and inventory and course corrects as neededMaintain health, safety and sanitation standardsUnderstand and comply with CA labor lawsCompensation Includes:Base Salary in the $100-110k range DOEBonus StructureMedical Benefits401kPTO PlanDining Discounts + Company PerksPotential Relocation Assistance
