Insurance Defense Paralegal

CLA has an immediate need for multiple experienced insurance defense paralegals for prominent law firms in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidates must have 3-5 years of experience working in a defense law firm and be able to hit the ground running. The firms offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits package to the ideal candidates.Sample responsibilities:Preparation and service of PleadingsMaintaining case documents/databasesReviewing case documents and preparing case chronologiesPreparing the first draft of discovery including drafting and answering interrogatories, requests for production, and requests to admitDrafting and serving subpoenasLegal Document preparation and drafting including pleadings, motions, trial documents, etc.Familiarity with legal terminology and SC Civil Procedure requirementsMust be comfortable with state and federal e-filing Minimum requirements and other qualifications:Bachelor's or Associates degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate2-3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal at a law firmGreat customer service skills, both in-person and over the phoneStrong personal work ethic and ability to organize time, manage diverse activities, and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervisionExcellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills, with the ability to be detail-orientedStrong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively Ability to multitask and prioritize caseload and daily tasksExperience with case management system, such as Time Matters or Clio, is a plusThese positions offer competitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with the scope of the position and a candidate's expertise and experience.
