The department consists of a team of five employees, and the successful candidate will take on a leadership role, driving efficiency, organization, and process improvements to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, with expertise in managing ocean and air freight operations. A hands-on approach to leadership and the ability to implement and refine processes are essential for this position.Key Responsibilities:Manage the day-to-day operations of the Routing Department, including coordinating shipments of foreign originSupervise, guide, and develop a team of five employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environmentDevelop and implement processes to streamline operations, increase efficiency, and improve customer satisfactionOversee all aspects of ocean and air freight, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standardsHandle vendor and carrier relationships, negotiating rates and service termsMonitor department performance and make data-driven decisions to enhance operationsTroubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise with shipments or team operationsQualifications:Proven experience in freight forwarding, with expertise in both ocean and air freight operationsStrong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teamsExcellent organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to implement effective processes and ensure continuous improvementSolid understanding of import/export regulations and complianceExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsCompensation:Salary in the $80K range, based on experience.If you're a motivated leader with a strong background in freight forwarding and the ability to drive improvements in operations, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
