In 2021, Delta was also recognized by CDP with leadership level ratings for its substantial contribution to climate change and water security issues and named Supplier Engagement Leader for its continuous development of a sustainable value chain.Basic FunctionsSeeking an experienced and motivated Energy and Sustainability Engineer to lead and oversee energy initiatives for our LEED Platinum certified building in the heart of Silicon Valley. This role is crucial in managing energy data collection, reporting, forecasting, and developing strategies to achieve and extend our energy goals.Essential Functions including but not limited to:Facilities Management:o Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, ensuring they align with sustainability goalso Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement eco-friendly maintenance and operations practices.o Monitor and enhance building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and water systems, to optimize performance and reduce environmental impact.o Assists with infrastructure upgrade planning and related cost managemento Contribute to space planning and future-proofing strategies for the headquarters and other region siteso Engage with local and federal government organizations to ensure compliance with regulations and leverage incentives for sustainability projectsEnergy and Sustainability Management:o Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of energy data across region sites and develop forecasting models to predict future energy needs and usage patternso Lead energy-saving initiatives, such as equipment upgrades, operational changes, and employee engagement programso Collaborate with corporate headquarters and other region sites on energy management strategies and initiativeso Conduct energy audits and assessments to identify opportunities for efficiency improvementso Develop and implement strategies to achieve and extend net-zero energy targetso Stay up to date on industry trends and technologies related to energy management, and government regulationsSustainable Project Managemento Plan, execute, and manage energy saving projects (ESP) from concept to completiono Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.o Prepare feasibility studies, project proposals, and financial analyses to support decision-making.o Assist in rolling out successful projects and solutions to other region sitesPrograms and Employee Engagemento Develop and implement employee engagement activities, such as energy-saving competitions and awareness campaigns, to foster a culture of sustainability within the organizationo Provide training and guidance to staff on sustainable practices and procedures.o Assist with compliance requirements related to environmental standards and regulationso Support emergency preparedness and resilience planningSkills and Abilities:Experience in facilities engineering or energy management rolesExperience with energy management systems and strategiesProficient in reporting and data analysisExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholdersAbility to work independently and as part of a team-Bachelors Degree required
