We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure that all suppliers meet regulatory and quality requirements. This role involves managing supplier relationships, conducting audits, implementing quality control protocols, and ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining high-quality standards across our supply chain while driving continuous improvement initiatives.What your day will look like:Ensure suppliers comply with all regulatory and quality requirements.Maintain and update a supplier database with performance records.Review product assembly guidelines and ensure the availability of required materials and resources.Develop and enforce quality control guidelines, protocols, and best practices.Train employees, suppliers, and vendors on quality assurance procedures and compliance standards.Advise vendors on defect reduction strategies and process improvements.Communicate with vendors regarding quality issues and logistics challenges.Conduct supplier assessments to verify product and material quality.Ensure manufacturing processes align with company and industry quality standards.Implement strategies to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.Conduct audits of supplier quality systems and oversee system maintenance when needed.Research and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.Negotiate contracts with suppliers for optimal quality and cost efficiency.Act as a liaison between vendors and internal teams, resolving quality-related issues.Visit vendor facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards and expectations.Lead and mentor employees involved in supplier quality assessment.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.Review and manage supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.Handle and resolve supplier complaints efficiently.What we are looking for:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH STEELProven experience in supplier quality management, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.Strong understanding of ISO, PPAP, Six Sigma, and quality management systemsExcellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.Ability to conduct audits and assess supplier compliance with industry standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience with quality control tools and methodologies.Proficiency in ERP and supplier management software is a plus.At Apex, we actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
