AZ Polymers LLC is seeking to fill a Process Technician position. The following is the description of the position:Position Summary: The Processing Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment involved in the processing of materials or products. This position requires monitoring production processes, performing routine maintenance, ensuring quality standards are met, and adhering to safety protocols. The role involves working closely with other operators and production team members to meet production goals efficiently and safely.Role qualifications:• Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing Sheet Extrusion or Film Extrusion environment.• Background in investigating and reporting nonconformance, equipment calibration, and machine maintenance.• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field of study is a bonus or may substitute suitable experience.Position Responsibilities:• Cultivates a Safety-First culture at all times, along with enforce safety rules and safe work practices, especially 5S.• Leads startup activities, and changeovers, while adhering to all quality parameters• Read, understand, maintain, and suggest edits on Profile Condition Reports• Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of daily production activities, machine logs, material usage, and safety checks.• Develop and maintains training programs to ensure correct operating procedure, corrective/preventive/predictive maintenance routines.• Ability to operate and trouble-shoot problems using process knowledge, logic, and resources on hand to solve complex problems• Create standard work instructions as needed • Recommend technology, product changes and workspace layout modifications to existing production standards to achieve optimum quality and efficiency.• Aid and report on work assignments, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.• Coordinate and supervise repairs of equipment.• Requires the flexibility of working on off-shifts for observation, analysis and training.• Employee may be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.Essential skills and experience:• Extensive Sheet Extrusion knowledge with solid processing background. Minimum of five years relevant experience. • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and share technical information with management.• Experience in plastics processing industry, either Sheet Extrusion or Film Extrusion• Ability to trouble-shoot equipment malfunction, downtime or stoppage.• Practical hands-on experience with plastics processes with knowledge of how formulation changes impact processing is a plus.Preferred Qualifications: • Two- or four-year technical degree or certification• Apprenticeship or equivalent training required
