General Manager

OverviewBay Colony Search has partnered with a manufacturing client to find and hire a General Manager to be part of the senior leadership team. This is a fast-paced and growing manufacturer although right now it is fairly small. The challenge is increasing production while also starting to manufacture standards rather than just specials which is the current product. Job FunctionsOversee and manage the daily day-to-day operations of the production plant and meet all shipment schedulesDevelop and implement an operational plan for the company that addresses staff development issues, safety, operational excellence, quality improvement, financial performance, delivery, and quality of serviceCreate and drive a culture of learning, innovation, mentoring, coaching, succession planning, recognition, respect, and professionalismOversee and manage consumable and maintenance purchasing activities and monitor inventory levelsLead problem solving efforts, coach team members in resolving conflicts and achieving results, and provide guidance to underperforming employeesMake and execute strategic decisions and tactics that ensure we remain supplier of choice to our customers by instilling a culture of delivering a quality product on time, every time and superior customer serviceDevelop a collaborative working relationship with all employees throughout the organizationAdminister budgets, control monthly P&L results, and formulate action plans to address variances and gapsAchieve annual profitability goalsQualificationsBachelor's Degree preferred, Associates or relevant experience will be considered10+ years of plant operations/engineering experience for a door or window manufacturer Experience managing a P&L Motivated, coachable, and able to follow instructions Excellent integrity, good moral, strong character, initiative, and leadershipExcellent interpersonal skills to interact with people from all levels and departmentsAbility to effectively communicate (written and orally) in English; any Spanish knowledge is a plusAbility to use computers and software such as Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical, planning, and organization skills
