Position Summary:LVI Associates is an engineering firm that designs, develops, and delivers comprehensive and integrated energy solutions for various building types, from concept to completion. Our team, composed of engineers, energy managers, analysts, and sustainability experts, focuses on energy efficiency and resiliency to strengthen long-term facility planning and maximize project payback.Based at our Midtown Manhattan office, the Senior Energy Engineer designs, develops, and evaluates energy conservation measures in complex multifamily and commercial facilities using their understanding of building HVAC, domestic hot water, process loads, lighting, and envelope systems. After conducting thorough assessments of building energy requirements and expenditures, the Senior Energy Engineer presents and implements comprehensive energy reduction plans.In addition, the Senior Energy Engineer supports efforts related to building the energy efficiency team and with workflow management of their direct reports. The Senior Energy Engineer is also responsible for building tools and processes, and for managing projects on a company-wide basis.Principal Accountabilities:Perform energy efficiency analyses for ASHRAE Level I, II, and III, and Local Law 87 energy audits and retro-commissioningConduct energy audits and site assessments of complex building systems to evaluate energy usage and identify energy conservation measures (ECMs)Perform feasibility, energy savings, and cost-benefit financial analyses for complex projectsCreate building-wide energy reduction plans by conducting energy use analyses of building and facility systems using analytical toolsLeverage potential rebate, financial, and loan initiatives to support project implementationTest and retro-commission building systems to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws (i.e., Local Law 87) including measurement and verification (M&V) as applicablePerform QA/QC processes of energy reduction plansUtilize energy and audit experience to generate ideas and analytical tools for ECMsAnalyze utility bills to identify building energy consumption and potential opportunities for reductionCommunicate energy reduction plans and meet with clients, such as management companies, building owners, and building staffPerform project management of energy efficiency projects to ensure compliance and proper implementation; including but not limited to coordinating with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and propertiesDevelop and expand analytical tool templates and energy audit procedures for the energy audit teamSupport the hiring and training of the energy audit team to ensure appropriate resources are in placeSupport managing the energy audit team, consisting of engineers, analysts, interns, and administrative staffSupport team members in conducting energy efficiency analyses, manage and communicate workflow, and provide day-to-day guidance by serving as point person for the respective team as neededProvide performance feedback to management, identify performance issues, facilitate solutions, and help address them as appropriatePerform other duties specific to the unique area of responsibilityKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experiencePrevious 5+ years of continuous experience in the energy sectorAdvanced understanding of energy efficiency concepts, HVAC systems, and renewable energy systemsExpertise with various modeling techniquesExperience with utility, federal, state, or local energy efficiency programs (e.g., NYSERDA FlexTech)Proficiency in Microsoft Office with significant expertise in ExcelMultifamily Building Analyst (MFBA), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or equivalentCompleted or pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licenseCertified as OSHA-10 prior to or within 6 months of employmentAbility to perform physical tasks including but not limited to: standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time, reading and recording information on handwritten forms and computer screens, using hand tools (such as powered tools, measuring devices, etc.), lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, navigating in small/enclosed places, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in loud, warm, and cold environmentsTravel primarily within New York CityRequired Personal Qualifications:Demonstrated passion for energy efficiency and clean energy technologyCollaborative personality, strong team playerExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to multitaskDemonstrated enthusiasm for learningProven ability to work independently and within a team environment, and to proactively identify problems and solutionsSome of our other benefits in addition to working with a diverse team include:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Ancillary benefitsPaid Vacation and unlimited sick timeGenerous Parental leave401(k) Retirement PlanPre-tax Phone StipendAnnual Professional Development AllowanceEmployee Assistance ProgramAdditional Benefits include: Company Activities, Lunch & Learns
