There is no relocation assistance for this position.Purpose of Job:The Procurement position is responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors, negotiating and procuring materials/services, and for arranging and negotiating logistics for incoming/outgoing shipments.The Procurement position is in Denison, Texas, and reports to the Plant Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:In-depth use of NetSuite ERP system for completion of daily tasks.Identify sources, negotiate terms and conditions, and purchase materials and services as required for product fabrication and plant operation.Set and maintain minimum material inventory to meet required lead times. Use NetSuite to monitor inventory levels and adjust as needed.Monitor quality of goods and evaluate costs and timeliness of material deliveries.Coordinate with Engineering staff to resolve supplier caused quality and delivery problems.Maintain relationships with existing vendors.Develop new vendor relationships.Review vendors and products used to find possible alternatives for consideration.Review and verify any discrepancies in reported material use.Periodically audit inventory and recording processes (physical and in NetSuite)Skills/Job RequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.3-5 years recent relevant work experience in procurement, preferably with manufacturing or materials.Functional understanding of metal material types and sizes.Self-Starter, ability to work independently, and in group/team setting.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Team player willing to be included in strategic goal-oriented meetings.Occasional travel requiredStrategic thinker.Be physically fit - job will require sitting, standing, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and other physical activity as required for the task at hand.Occasional work in a manufacturing environment as procurement duties may require, such as inventory counting/verification.
