Associate Account Executive, New Jersey Office Are you an ambitious PR professional who can't wait to get your clients in the media? Do you prefer a team where everyone has an opportunity to speak up, take ownership, and work directly with high-profile clients?MikeWorldWide (MWW) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Account Executive located in our New Jersey office in Hasbrouck Heights to work on several key accounts within the Corporate Reputation and Public Affairs space. Clients include healthcare, transportation, insurance, not-for-profits, education and public policy.Primary Responsibilities:Draft press releases, pitch letters, etc.; conduct background research and prepare briefing memos/documents for client interviews/media opportunitiesCall and pitch media as assigned; begin to build relationships with relevant journalists and influencers, developing pitches and securing media coverageParticipate in logistical operations of special events planning and coordinationCoordinate and distribute client media materialsServe as liaison between clients, vendors, and agency departments to coordinate efficient and timely processing of materialsSchedule and coordinate client and internal meetings; keep participants advised of changes; develop meeting agendas and recapsProofread internal and client documents for accuracy and qualityInteract with clients as deemed necessary by account team leaderConduct media monitoring and analysis and prepare reports for distribution to client(s), as necessaryDevelop and maintain media contact lists and databases, updating regularly and mining for new contactsScan daily, weekly, monthly and online publications to identify and flag client-relevant media coverage and contacts, including competitive market and industry information; clip and track placements as necessaryMonitor social channels and assist in developing contentPerform ad hoc account management tasks as assignedWhat You Have to Have (Education and Experience Requirements):At least 1 year of experience (post-graduation) in a public relations agency or the communications department of a company in a relevant industryBachelor's degree in public relations, a related field or in the liberal artsMaintain a professional, client-ready demeanor and presence; keep a high standard of etiquette in all communications and interactionsSuperior oral and written communication skills; great eye for consistency and proofreading skillsAbility to prioritize multiple assignments; detail focused, organized and deadline-oriented with strong time management skillsEntry level understanding of media writing and media relations (pitching, writing releases, and ability to find creative angles)Demonstrate an understanding of and affinity for digital tools and social media platforms, and AI program such as ChatGPTFamiliarity and basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Muck Rack, Cision, Moreover, Factiva, TV Eyes and other monitoring toolsRequired to be in NJ office twice a week and travel to client meetingsin NJ (as needed)Success Factors and Other Details:Avid consumer of general and business/economics news and mediaMaintain a thorough understanding of clients' businesses and industries; become an expert on clients' products and services; successfully demonstrate these offerings to mediaAbility to think strategically, creatively and proactively; exhibit a facility for problem solvingIntellectual curiosity and desire to pursue knowledge and professional developmentParticipate in agency development by working collaboratively across all practice areasCultivate and exhibit strong presentation and interpersonal skillsConsistently strive for personal excellence with both client deliverables and within your team, enabling MWW to maintain a competitive advantage by providing exceptional value and serviceMWW Values:At MWW, our values are what set us apart and give us the energy to move forward with confidence and excellence.PassionWe have a real passion for what we do.
