The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet AS9100 standards, customer specifications, and aerospace industry regulations. This position is responsible for supporting the quality management system, conducting root cause analysis, driving corrective and preventive actions, and improving manufacturing processes through data-driven decision-making. The Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product reliability, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Support to maintain and improve quality management system (QMS) documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.· Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, conducting process reviews, and implementing corrective actions.· Lead root cause investigations for non-conforming materials, customer complaints, and internal process failures.· Conduct 8D problem-solving, 5-Why analysis, and Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagrams to determine root causes.· Develop, implement, and validate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of quality issues.· Track effectiveness of corrective actions and report findings to quality and operations leadership.· Act as a liaison between the company and customers for quality-related issues, source inspections, and audits.· Ensure customer flow-down requirements and contractual quality clauses are properly implemented and adhered to.· Manage Material Review Board (MRB) processes, including review, disposition, and rework procedures.COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS· Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 (FAI), and aerospace quality requirements.· Experience with 8D problem-solving and CAPA methodologies.· Proficiency in blueprint reading, and quality inspection tools.· Hands-on experience with micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments.· Familiarity with ERP systems for quality tracking and reporting.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).· 3+ years in a Quality Engineering role in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.PHYSICAL DEMAND AND SAFETY· Stand: Moderate.· Sit: Moderate to Frequent.· Walk: Moderate.· Handle Objects: Low.· Use Fine Finger Movements: Continuous.· Learn and follow all safety requirements.
