Production ManagerLocation: Acton, MAEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition OverviewWe are seeking a data-driven and hands-on Production Manager to lead the setup, optimization, and quality oversight of test lines for large-array Open Radio Units (ORUs). This role requires a strong focus on production quality metrics, statistical analysis, and work-in-progress (WIP) management to ensure seamless product transitions, inventory control, and process efficiency at our Contract Manufacturers (CMs). The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing databases to track production test data, generate reports, and drive continuous process improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and analyze production quality metrics (e.g., KPIs, First Pass Yield, failure rates) to identify trends, optimize processes, and implement corrective actions.Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven insights to improve yield, efficiency, and reliability of the production line.Establish and maintain quality control processes that support scalable, repeatable manufacturing operations.Drive WIP and in-stock inventory strategies to manage live product changes without disrupting production flow.Coordinate inventory and material availability at Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to prevent shortages or bottlenecks.Ensure seamless integration of new product introductions (NPIs) into the manufacturing workflow.Develop and execute comprehensive production test plans for PCB and box build assemblies.Set up test equipment, fixtures, and work instructions to ensure consistent and accurate validation of product quality.Oversee troubleshooting and debugging of test failures, working with engineering teams to resolve issues.Work closely with CMs to align production and test setups with company standards.Manage inventory, workspace, and test infrastructure at CMs to optimize assembly and testing operations.Ensure all necessary equipment, test fixtures, and work instructions are in place for efficient on-site production testing.Develop and maintain databases to store, analyze, and report on production test data.Implement automated reporting systems for real-time quality monitoring and process improvements.Leverage production data to drive decision-making and improve yield, throughput, and defect tracking.Lead Lean Manufacturing and process optimization initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance quality.Train and mentor production teams, fostering a culture of quality ownership and accountability.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, manufacturing standards, and company policies.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience5+ years in production management, electronics manufacturing, or a similar role.Expertise in production quality metrics, statistical analysis, and process optimization.Strong experience with PCB and box build assembly testing.Background in coordinating Contract Manufacturers (CMs), inventory control, and testing setups.Proficiency with production databases (SQL, Python, or similar tools).Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies.Hands-on experience with test equipment, fixture setup, and troubleshooting.Preferred SkillsExperience with ERP/MRP systems.Background in large-array ORUs or similar complex hardware systems.
