National law firm has an immediate opening for a skilled and experienced legal secretary in civil litigation in its Concord or Petaluma office. Qualified candidates must have at least 2-5 years of experience in a legal secretary position in a law firm setting. Insurance defense is highly preferred. This position is currently a hybrid model requiring the individual to come into the office 2-3 days per week. Therefore, you must live in the greater Contra Costa or Sonoma County areas - no exceptions.Skills and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to the following:e-filing experience in California, both State and Federal courtFamiliar with civil, arbitration procedures/filingsMaintain attorneys calendar by planning and scheduling meetings, depositions, mediations, teleconferences, and travelHave the ability to communicate with outside law firms to schedule depositions and other meetings as neededProof and finalize correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, and prepare routine shell macrosAbility to prepare and file pleading documents and discovery documents while consulting with the attorneyBe able to open and close legal filesHandle general correspondence between outside law firms, clients, and insurance carriersHeavy document management organizational skillsRecord and track deadlines through docketing and calendar systemAssist multiple attorneysTrial preparationRequirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to be a team playerExcellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projectsAbility to multi-task independentlyProfessional and pleasant demeanorTime management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accuratelyKnowledge of e-filing systems and eDockets a mustHigh level of computer competency, in the complete Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, iManage document file systemRequires the ability to work 40 Hours a week M-F 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Benefits include:A competitive salary package, including the potential for bonusesInsurance including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and a flexible spending account401(k) retirement planPTO, sick time and paid holidaysA flexible work from home policyReferral programRecruiters - Please do not contact us as we are not using external recruiters to fill this position at this time.
